Here are the three easy steps to begin your study of music at ISM:

1. Select the instrument you wish to study or class in which you want to enroll in.

2. Call the School Office at 301.657.0763 where program coordinator will assess the student's needs and assign the appropriate teacher.

3. Register in one of the ways stated below.
    

Registration may be done:

• In Person: By Appointment or walk in during business hours (Monday-Friday 2pm-8pm, and Saturday 9am-4pm)

Private Lessons

New students seeking private lessons should fill out the Private Lesson Application and fax it to the Admission Office. You can also come to the school, or call the office and register  over the phone. This application serves as part of the orientation, at which the student learns about the Music School's philosophy and special offerings and shares his/her goals and expectations. After this discussion, the program coordinator recommends a teacher and schedules a lesson time. After placement with a teacher has been confirmed (day, time, duration), please complete and submit the registration form with the appropriate fees and tuition. Registration is ongoing. A $30 non-refundable registration fee per family is collected from each new student at the time of registration.

Group Lessons

Registration for group classes can be accomplished by submitting a completed Registration Form with the appropriate fees and the tuition. If an audition is required, please contact the office to arrange an appointment. Please consult the printed class schedule, or call the office for the current schedule of classes. You will need the course name, teacher, class length, day, time, and starting date.


Trial Lessons
 

A trial lesson provides a combined lesson and consultation prior to enrollment in regularly scheduled individual instruction. The lesson gives prospective students a no-obligation opportunity to try an instrument or become familiar with a teacher. Private rates apply for trial lessons.

Tuition and Fees

Payments may be made by check or credit card.

Private lesson tuition:

• 30 minute lesson $39 ($156 per month)

• 45 minute lesson $58 ($232 per month)

• 60 minute lesson $78 ($312 per month)

Group class tuition:

• Group class $270 for 15 classes (45min each)

• Class materials are charged extra

Miscellaneous fees:

• Non-refundable registration fee: $30 (one per family).

• Late payments or returned checks: $25 late fee.

• End of Year Juries fee: $15

• Accompaniment fee for a 15 min rehearsal: $15

Students must supply their own instruments. ISM is happy to refer students to local music stores for instrument purchase or rental.
 

Gift Certificates
 
ISM offers gift certificates in any amount for lessons or classes at the International School of Music.
